Bringing Creativity into the Classroom.
The level of arts offerings in NYC classrooms can vary greatly from school to school. As a major funder of the New York City Ballet’s Education and School Enrichment Programs, we’re helping to close the “creativity gap” for our New York City neighbors attending public elementary schools.
As a Major Education Partner of NYC Ballet (NYCB), we provide grants for programming that will support growth and increase joy for all levels of aspiring dancers. We truly believe dance is a gift to be shared by all. All donations help us make dreams a reality!
The NYCB In-School Residency Program emphasizes creative expression, dancemaking, and literacy for students in grades 1-5. This immersive and engaging curriculum pairs classroom teachers with professional dance educators to incorporate the arts into the learning experience.
During workshops, students embrace their creativity while exploring how ballet is connected to their daily lives through storytelling, music, and dance. “Aligned with the Common Core Learning Standards and the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Dance, In-school programs promote experiential, and interdisciplinary approaches to learning that center social-emotional development, collaboration, and self-expression.”
