The NYCB Access Workshop gives children with physical and cognitive disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, joint diseases, and brain trauma special access to interact with the Dance Company. Workshops are led by NYCB Principal Dancers, with volunteer medical staff working 1:1 with students to assist with movement and coordination.

Each one-hour session is full of hands-on, personalized attention, so each participant is able to experience the joy of dance through a ballet class with live piano music. Parents are encouraged to sit and watch as their children discover new ways of moving. It’s a transformative experience, as seen in this video produced by the NYCB.
